Director of Business Development: On-Demand

Black Duck Software is the gold standard for open source due to diligence audits, participating in 600 M&A transactions per year. In order to dramatically grow our established European business, we seek and individual who can open doors and set up relationships with clients and partners that will generate a flow of inbound opportunities for our transactional sales team. The successful candidate will be able to relate to and speak the language of investment professionals as well as their technical advisors and commit to working with Black Duck.This position will be based out of Reading, UK office and will report to General Manager On-Demand and VP of Business Development. 

Responsibilities:

• Drive demand audits by establishing productive relationships in the European Technology M&A community:
  • Private Equity Firms
  • Strategic Acquirers
  • Due Diligence Service Providers
  • Investment Bankers
  • Law Firms
• Evangelize the need for and value of Black Duck audits
• Analyze European market for audit potential and penetration
• Work with marketing group to develop European promotional plans
• Work with On-Demand Delivery team to meet the particular needs of European clients

Requirements:

• Understanding of mergers and acquisitions market
• Excellent communication skills: Verbal, written, presentation, and marketing
• Ability to work effectively, independently and collaborate
• 5+ years’ experience in relevant business
• Knowledge of technology and software development preferred
• MBA or JD degree preferred
• Multiple language fluency is a plus
• Travel 25%+ of the time
