Description

Implementation Consultant – Burlington, MA

Black Duck's Implementation Consultants work in the Professional Services group and provide a variety of services to our customer base related to the implementation of Black Duck products. Viewed by our clients as a software expert, the Implementation Consultant is responsible for assisting clients through the deployment life-cycle, analyzing customer workflow and development processes, software auditing, implementing OSS management best practices, and configuring third-party integrations.

The Implementation Consultant reports to the Manager of Consulting Engineering based in our Burlington, MA office.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Participate in client implementations: gather customer requirements, perform business analysis, system deployment/configuration, testing, and training
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the capabilities and limitations of the Black Duck Hub and Suite products
  • Develop expertise in software auditing to deliver code assessment services to customers interested in determining compliance to third-party licensing
  • Provide guidance for business decisions from a technical perspective on issues such as: performance, scalability, reliability, and security
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to customer sites (including internationally)

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years of experience in a business environment with a technical focus
  • Customer-facing consulting, deployment, and/or training experience
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills
  • Comfortable speaking to customers (developers, engineers, and management)
  • Experience with Windows and Linux Operational platforms including command environments

Preferred Skills:

  • Basic understanding of networking
  • General database (SQL) knowledge
  • Familiarity with the Docker platform
  • Understanding of programming and programming methodologies (SDLC)
  • Familiarity with software development tools; including CI’s, IDE’s, Code and Binary Repos
  • Experience with cloud environments – AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure
  • Familiarity with open source software, third party licensing, open source approval processes, or license compliance governance is highly valued and is a plus
