Description
Technical Support Internship - Summer 2017

Black Duck Software is seeking an exceptional Technical Support intern to join our Technical Support team!  The Technical Support Intern will be assigned to learn aspects of one or more of our products and provide Level 2 Support.  The position is based in our Burlington, MA office location.  Self-motivated candidates with strong interpersonal skills invited to apply.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Research requests from customers to add content to our Open Source knowledgebase
  • Create registration keys and customer letters for new customers and renewals
  • Work with staff to enhance and add online technical content to our Customer Support portal 
  • Assist with customer communications including technical product announcements, shipping media, and upgrade recommendations
  • Enhance customer satisfaction by timely responses, consistent communications, satisfactorily resolving each case and prompt escalation to support management when needed
  • Support internal Black Duck field and professional services staff as needed

Requirements:
  • Demonstrated Technical knowledge in one or more of the following:
    • Java or javascript programming
    • Application Servers, particularly Tomcat
    • C# or .Net programming in a multi-tier environment
    • SQL programming and relational databases.  Postgresql experience a plus
    • Linux or Unix shell commands and basic system administration
  • Commitment to providing high level customer satisfaction
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to learn through informal hands-on training
